The finale of the 71st edition of Miss World will be held on 9th March 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, India where the delegates will compete in the final leg of the competition and a new Miss World will be crowned. The reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
After careful deliberations, taking the pre-pageant challenges results in mind, we have prepared our list of the final favourites for the Miss World crown. In no particular order, here are our favourites for the 71st Miss World crown –
Lucía Arellano of Peru
Lucía Arellano is 28 years of age and stands 170 cm tall. She is an entrepreneur who holds a degree in International Business. Ever since her arrival in India, Lucia has shown immense potential to win the crown. At the Top Model Competition, Arellano placed in the Top 20 (America Qualifiers). She has used her voice to advocate for children and their rights in her country and has brough Peruvian pride with her to India.
Lesego Chombo representing Botswana
Lesego Chombo came as a surprise for everyone! Ever since her arrival in India, Chombo has made it a point to be seen as a strong contender for the Miss World crown. Already making it to Top 40 by winning the Head-to-Head Challenge, Lesego has already made a strong footing in the competition. At the pre-pageant activities as well, Lesego placed in the Top 10 at Beauty with a Purpose Challenge, Top 14 in the Talent Competition, finalists at Top Model Challenge (Africa Winner). She is definitely one of the strongest contenders for the Miss World crown.
Nursena Say representing Turkey
Nursena Say came to the competition prepared to give a strong competition to the delegates this year. As the representative of Turkey, Say strives to take a positive impact on her community. Her ultimate goal has always been to set an example for the younger generation, rather than being seen as a beauty queen, she aspires to be seen as a guiding figure, an elder sister, showing other girls the way. At the pre-pageant activities as well, Nursena placed in the Top 10 for Beauty with a Purpose, and placed as the first runner-up at Top Model Challenge.
Sini Shetty representing India
Sini Shetty, as the host country delegate, has proven her mettle at the competition as well. A well spoken and a confident girl, Sini has placed well at the pre-event competitions as well. She placed in the Top 25 at Head-to-Head Challenge, Top 14 at the Talent Competition, Top 20 at the Top Model Competition and Best Designer Dress from Asia.
Jessica Ashley representing England
Jessica Ashley, an Aerospace Engineering graduate, has made it to our favourites list as well with her inspiring story and such a charming personality. Being bullied in her younger years, Jessica has worked on advocating for and empowering girls who look like her. She works on education and women's empowerment as she wants to inspire young girls, especially those who are being bullied for being red-haired to pave their own way in the industry. Jessica has already made it to Top 40 at the Miss World finals winning the Head-to-Head Challenge.
Krystyna Pyszková representing Czech Republic
Krystyna Pyszková has made it to our favourites list with her stunning beauty and a charming personality. Krystyna made it to Top 10 at Beauty with a Purpose Competition. For her BWAP project, Krystyna’s mission is to provide quality education for disadvantaged children as she believes that education is the fundamental right that every child deserves, regardless of their background or life circumstances. The Czech beauty, with her strong values and love for doing better for the society, is another strong contender for the Miss World crown.
