Rachel Silvera has been crowned Miss Universe Jamaica 2024. The announcement sets the stage for Rachel’s upcoming role as Jamaica's representative at the 73rd Miss Universe competition in Mexico this November.
Rachel, hailing from Windsor Castle, St. Mary, is not only celebrated for her beauty but also for her passionate advocacy in environmental sustainability and mental health awareness. At 26, her journey from a rural farm life to studying pharmacy at The University of Technology is a testament to her resilience and dedication to making a positive impact.
Her involvement in social causes began prominently when she was the first runner-up in Miss Universe Jamaica 2022. During that time, she launched initiatives such as 876 PlanetJa, which aimed to raise funds for the Teen Challenge Women's Centre and lead mangrove cleanup projects. Her commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11—Sustainable Cities and Communities—shines through her current project, the development of a community park in rural St. Catherine/St. Mary.
Rachel’s focus on creating sustainable solutions and enhancing community well-being reflects her broader vision for a better future. As she prepares for the Miss Universe competition, Jamaica takes pride in her achievements and eagerly anticipates her representation on the global stage.
Congratulations to Rachel Silvera on her well-deserved title! Her dedication and commitment are set to inspire and make a significant impact internationally.
