Claudia Barrionuevo has been crowned Miss Universe Argentina 2015 in a gala event held at the Independence Theater in the city of Mendoza. She is the first Salteña (the province of Salta known as Salteña) to prevail the prestigious national title. Claudia Barrionuevo will now represent Argentina at the Miss Universe 2015 contest, which is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on December 20.
Standing tall at a towering height of 5’10”, - Claudia managed to stun the 11 juries of the evening as she vied against the other finalists from various provinces across Argentina.
The beauty succeeds Miss Universe Argentina 2014, Valentina Ferrer. Valentina Ferrer made it to the Top 10 finalists, and was also in the Top 5 finalists for the Best National Costume Competition.
At the same event, Miss Capital Federal, Maria Teresa Kuster was adjudged as the first runner-up while Miss Mendoza, Marina Calot was titled as the second runner-up.
The 24-years-old hails from El Carril, Salta and currently working as a model at IMM (International Model Management).
“I can’t hide my emotions. It’s a dream come true! I gave all my heart and sacrificed a lot just to represent my beloved Salta in the best way,” Claudia explained in a post-crowning conference.
Miss Argentina contest is the national beauty pageant of Argentina that has been held since 1954. The pageant became the most prestigious national contest in the country.
