For the first time since her Miss Florida USA 2017 crown was taken away, Genesis Davila will finally speak up about the whole allegation that claimed that she broke pageant rules. Genesis has filed a lawsuit against State organizer Grant Gavitt and IMG Universe L.P. (Miss Universe) on the charges of defamation.

Ex Miss Florida USA 2017 Genesis Davila 

The beauty queen has filed the lawsuit seeking USD 5 million in damages, the reinstatement of her title and the chance to compete in Miss USA. All the information will be revealed during the official Press Conference. She and her attorney, Richard Wolfe are also planning to file an emergency injunction.

24 years old Davila was crowned as Miss Florida USA 2017 on July 16’ 2016 at the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale. On July 22’ 2016 Davila was dethroned for violating the rules and regulations of Miss Florida USA pageant. According to the executive producer of the Miss Florida USA pageant Gravitt, the Puerto Rican beauty used professional stylists to help with her hair and makeup in her private room, and that is a violation of pageant rules. He also shared that the organisation received many complaints from the contestants, and there were even eyewitnesses. "We finally had substantial proof to link her and her vendors to her room on an evening which they were not allowed," Gravitt said.

On July 26’ 2016 was crowned as the new Miss Florida USA 2017.

Davila and her lawyers began preparing the lawsuit after organizers refused to reinstate her. The lawsuit also alleges that the pageant directors accused Davila of not being an American citizen.
