Jessica da Silva of UAE made history by being crowned Miss Global 2021 at the finale held on 11th June 2022 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia. Not only did she become the first middle eastern woman to win Miss Global but also she is the first single mother to bag the title.
Jessica is a Brazilian architect, model and beauty queen who is based in the United Arab Emirates. Jessica is originally from Borborema, Paraíba, Brazil and speaks Portuguese and English. In 2014, Jessica graduated from the Instituto Federal da Paraiba in João Pessoa, Paraíba.
Jessica’s pageant journey began in 2016 where she represented Borborema at Miss Paraiba 2016 and finished in Top 10. In 2017, she represented Sousa at Miss Paraiba 2017 and finished in Top 5. At the age of 27, Jessica competed at Miss Global 2021 in Bali and won the coveted crown.
In 2021, she graduated from the Architecture and Urbanism Institute of Higher Education of Paraíba and finished a short course on site planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. She is currently attending the Rhode Island School of Design as a graduate student in interior design. She is expected to graduate in 2023.
On winning the Miss Global 2021 crown, Jessica took to her official social media to reveal her emotions in a post captioned, “The first Miss UAE in the Miss Global, the first winner of the Middle East, the first mother to win the miss global, the winner of the title of miss popularity, miss aesthetic… also thank you to everyone who accredited me, this crown is to you! thank you Indonesia, thank you Miss Global.”
Along with her, Shane Tormes was crowned Miss Global 2022 at the finale night held on 11th June 2022 held in Bali, Indonesia. Tormes is the first Filipina beauty queen to take home the international crown along with winning best in talent award. She is a Filipino singer, model and beauty queen from Atimonan, Quezon, Philippines.
