The coronation ceremony of Miss Nepal Oceania 2020 was held on 14th March 2020 at Orion Function Centre, New South Wales, Australia where Jemina Shrestha was crowned as the new queen. She has made a direct entry to Miss Nepal 2020 as a part of the Top 25 delegates. She was crowned by Miss Nepal Oceania 2019 and Miss World Nepal 2019 Anushka Shrestha at the end of the event finale.
Jemina originally hails from Kathmandu is 23-years-old and stands 162cm tall. She has earned her degree in Environmental Science from Kathmandu University and currently works as a sales supervisor at Victoria’s Secret in Australia. Jemina is very excited and honored to have won the title of Miss Nepal Oceania 2020 as this winning takes her directly to the competition of Miss Nepal 2020 where she would be competing for an opportunity to represent Nepal at Miss World 2020.

Jemina is a very strong and confident woman who has always tried her best to ace in whatever competition she has participated. The diva has shared her entire journey on her social media where she has not only poured her heart out but her insecurities too. She explained that being in a competition gets negative after a while but when she looks back at her journey, she realized that she has learnt so much. She has learnt from her competitors, the people who believe in you to push you.
The diva has always spoken up about her self-love and self-acceptance and via her social media posts, one can easily understand that she is ready to accept the change and fight against all the odds to win something she is passionate about. She has dealt with body issues in the past but started to make some changes in her daily routine which has made her feel empowered and better about herself. She has worked on her stage fright in the past eight months when she was preparing for the pageant which according to her is a huge success for her.
Since, Jemina is from environmental background and works into Fashion and is aware about the climate change, she decided to make a goal for herself where she’d only purchase second hand/ sustainable and ethically made clothes. She would like to advocate on the same to people out there to understand the importance of fashion revolution. The diva has also spoken up and would like to advocate people about physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or sexual violence by a non-partner (not including sexual harassment).
Jemina wants the people who are trapped in toxic relationships should come up and speak about their struggles so that someone else could get motivation and support to do the same. “Manipulation, Gaslighting, Threatening is just as wrong as being dragged by your hair at the sidewalk in the middle of the night” she stated. She would like to use the platform given to her to talk more on this subject.
Jemina thanked her family, friends, mentors, team and everyone who has voted for her to win the crown. She expressed her happiness by explaining that she cannot imagine her life without anyone’s support and motivation that kept her pushing toward her goal. She specially mentioned her colleagues and bosses who were kind to her and believed in her and helped her get through the toughest part.
Jemina is a very strong contender for the title of Miss Nepal 2020. She has already started to prepare herself for the upcoming pageant. Congratulations to the newly crowned queen.
