The Miss Universe 2016 pageant has stirred the excitement among the fans and pageant fanatics with the announcement of the finals and venue. Since, the 2016 edition is happening in the country where people are head over heels in love with beauty pageants, the excitement has doubled up. Not just the fans, even the tourism department is excited about the finals.

Everyday is turning out to be a new announcement day about the pageant. As per the latest scoop, the swimwear presentation of Miss Universe 2016 will be held at the Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu in Lapu-Lapu City. The news was revealed by the hotel’s corporate liaison officer, Arthur Lo.

“When talks about the possible hosting of Miss Universe here in the Philippines came about, we immediately contacted our local tourism office and in Manila because we feel that this is just once in a lifetime opportunity for the country. We want to support our tourism,” said Lo.

According to Lo, the resort is willing to spend more than $1 million for the improvements of the hotel in time for the hosting of the one-day event. The chairman and president of Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu, Justin Uy shared that Cebu would be exhibited as the premiere destination during the pageant days. “This is not solely for the company but we are doing this for Cebu to put the island on the map again and to erase negative remarks about us,” said Uy.

Not just great fans, the Philippines are also working hard to showcase it as an amazing host for the Miss Universe 2016 delegates and guests. Miss Universe 2016 is going to be the 65 edition of the Miss Universe pageant and is to be held on 30th January 2017. At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Universe 2016, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach from Philippines will pass on her crown to her successor.
