The world has the new Miss Universe 2017 in the face of Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters from South Africa. In the final leg of the competition night, a new twist came up when the Top 3 girls had to answer a final question, while the other two wore soundproof headphones.
This round was mainly to understand the 3 finalists better, to understand their personalities, their thought process in life. The girls spoke about what they stand for in life, the causes they empathise towards more, while also sharing what they would advocate about if they win the crown. In a way, this was their last words to the crowd and the judges to show their worth.
The question was similar for all the 3 candidates. They had to impress the judges with some insight-full and passionate answers in this round. This was the final word of Top 3 contestants. The girls got 45 seconds to answer the question.

The question was, ''What quality in yourself are you most proud of and how will you apply that to your time as Miss Universe?''
First to be called was Davina Bennett from Jamaica. She said, “The quality that I am most appreciative of is my drive and my determination. I am part of a foundation that spreads awareness for the deaf community. This platform is such a great platform to let people know that these people’s need equal opportunities as the other community. So, Miss Universe platform will be the platform to spread awareness for all the dead awareness.”
Next up was Laura González from Colombia. She said, “I am incredibly passionate about everything I do. With compassion, I have discipline. With compassion, I put my whole self in every situation that I work at. I have done this as an actress, as Miss Colombia and I do not doubt that I will do the same if I win Miss Universe.”
And the final answer was given by the winner of the night, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters from South Africa. She answered saying, “You have to be confident in who you are as an individual. Miss Universe is a woman who has overcome many fears and by that she is able to help other women overcome their fears. She is the woman from whom nothing is ever too much to ask for and I think that is exactly who I am. Thank you.”
Well, the people did have their doubts in between the best answer. While some liked Demi’s answer the best, the others were more inclined towards Jamaica’s Davina. The winner can only be one though and the judges gave their ultimate winner by crowning Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters from South Africa.
