Finally, we have the date and host country for the much-awaited Miss Universe 2019!
After Thailand hosted the most prestigious international pageant last year, speculations have been rife about which country will get to host the pageant this year. It seems that the organization has decided that USA will be the host country for the 68th edition of the Miss Universe beauty pageant. The finale will be held on 8th December 2019, while the venue and the city are yet to be decided. This is the 36th time that USA will host the Miss Universe pageant since its commencement in 1952. Official announcement should be expected in a few days.
Candidates from more than 90 countries are expected to compete in Miss Universe 2019, and one of them will earn the privilege to be crowned 68th Miss Universe by the reigning queen - Catriona Gray of Philippines - Miss Universe 2018.
Catriona Gray posted on her official FaceBook page “December 8, USA ...who's excited?!”

Several candidates of this year’s edition of Miss Universe and national pageant directors also broke the news on their official social media accounts, and some of these posts can be viewed below -

Below is the excerpt of the communique issued by Paula Shugart, MUO President to all Miss Universe national directors about the host country and the pageant date -
“Dear National Directors,
I apologize for the delay in relaying information to you regarding Miss Universe 2019. There was much discussion with our network as to whether Miss Universe should be held after the first of the year (as has been successfully done in previous years).
However, it has been officially decided that Miss Universe will be part of network’s holiday line-up and therefore has been locked for Sunday, December 8th. This is a very good time slot and we are very happy to be included in the holiday promotion.
We will revert back to you shortly with all the location information but it will definitely be in the United States. We wanted to make you aware of the date right away so you can begin to plan accordingly.
Again, I apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. I look forward seeing you and your contestants in the (very) near future.”
So, all beauty pageant fans will get to witness an exciting December with the Miss Universe and the Miss World pageants lined up for 8th December and 14th December respectively!
