Just as the Red-Carpet Presentation was held on 14th February 2020 for the Miss Universe Philippines 2020, the first edition of the national pageant, 52 stunning divas were unveiled who will now give a strong competition to each other to win the chance to represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020.
Mariam Lara Ashraf Abd El Hamid, popularly known as Mariam Lara Hamid is confirmed as the official delegate of Capiz, Philippines. Mariam nicknamed ‘Meme’ will represent Capiz City at the stage of Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She is a 20-year-old beauty who recently entered into pageantry. She made her debut by participating in Miss Paraw Regatta Heritage 2019 and also managed to bag the crown.
Mariam is a beautiful girl with a jolly and enchanting personality. Though she has very sharp features and a perfect figure, the best part about her looks is her beautiful curly hair. She believes that the most beautiful woman is the one who is natural and independent. Her lifestyle clearly proves it. Her love for pageantry can be seen, when she decided to make it as her career option. It was her first attempt when she vied against experienced candidates at Paraw Regatta 2019 but still won the crown. This spirit of hers makes her a strong contender this year. Strong enough to reach the top 15. The competition may get harder while standing against experienced pageant queens like Sandra laymundo lemonon who gave a tough competition to Catriona Gray, later was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2018. Mariam is young and even if she is unable to get the title this year, she can gain enough experience to come back and strive for it in the upcoming years. Mariam is a science graduate and aims to improve the health status of her city and eventually the nation. She calls herself a proud resident of Capiz City which proves the patriotism and love for her city. This quality of hers is a proof that she holds the potential to be titled as Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and eventually Miss Universe 2020 because the one who can love and embrace themselves can definitely love this universe and its creations. She is strong enough to fulfill the motive of the title ‘Miss Universe’ i.e. to spread love and transform the world to make it a better place. Mariam also has a captivating smile and deep, beautiful eyes which makes people go head over heels when they watch her. She is young, talented and holds the potential to be crowned as the next Miss Universe Philippines 2020. It will be interesting to watch this young lady stand against 52 other talented participants.
The finale of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 is scheduled to be held on 3rd May 2020 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Metro Manila where Gazini Ganados Miss Universe Philippines 2019 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The pageant is inspired by Miss Universe's slogan ‘Confidently Beautiful’ and henceforth has adopted the theme ‘Confident, beautiful, and empowered Filipinas.’
