The Miss England Organisation is also starting a Public Vote this year, wherein the fans and followers can vote for their favourite contestant. The winner of the public vote will be fast tracked through to the top 15 Miss England Finalists.
Miss England claims that they are trying to shake off the traditional image of these contests by offering more wide-ranging criteria to sort through hopefuls. "Miss England is not just a beauty contest, and you have to be more than just a pretty face to win," the spokesman said. "It's not just about looking good in a swimsuit anymore."
The contestants are nervous and at the same time are also very excited to battle out for the prestigious crown. "I've done a lot of preparation so I'm ready to go there now, and I'm expecting a lot of different things," said the 19-year-old Olivia Green, one of the contestants of Miss England 2016.
