Melba Emmanuelah Shakabozha is currently representing Zambia in Miss Universe 2018 as she was crowned the national winner in August, earlier this year. The 23-year-old diva is another candidate who is in our Top 20 favourites for the coveted crown this year.

From Lusaka, Melba is a Radiologist by profession who is currently an ambassador for an orphanage school program. She is also a mentor to two girls at the orphanage and helps them through education. Melba wishes to provide the orphanage children with higher education. Not just this, the beauty queen has a heart of gold as she took the responsibility of looking after eighty-two children with disabilities at the Home of Hope after she was awarded the national title.

Proud to represent her country and promote the rich culture and heritage of Zambia, Melba also believes in peace and global unity. A fluent speaker of English, Melba has already proven to be a strong contestant in the pre-pageant activities and events. Standing 180 cm tall, Melba also pulls off every look beautifully.

Melba is also seen advocating for social causes through her social media as recently she spoke about cyberbullying and how it affects everyone with its negative impact. As an influencer, it is imperative to use your voice to bring forward the topics that are important globally and the beautiful diva does that through her voice.

Melba was also recently caught in the controversy with her former partner who claimed that she stabbed him but the beauty queen never lost her grace and handled the whole situation with poise and calm. It shows that even in the face of most difficult situations, Melba will definitely come out stronger.

Zambia is yet to win its first-ever Miss Universe pageant as the country hasn’t been punctual in sending their representatives to the coveted pageant. Last year, Isabel Chikoti represented Zambia in Miss Universe 2017 but unfortunately failed to secure a place in the Top. With Melba’s representation, the chances of Zambia pioneering its win in the competition have definitely increased.
